HL15
in a world of wanting to get a deal, sometimes money must be spent...it looks shiny and well built
It has been about 6 years since I updated my home nas/server. It has served me well, but is currently a bit constrained. I can get 5 HDD and one nvme to work with the motherboard.
Upgrading to the HL15 pre-built will be a down grade in the CPU, but I have the option to get a new CPU if it really is an issue. I look forward to getting the box fully populated with other HDDs that have been cycled out, but were still good. I plan on upgrading to 128GB more ecc RAM, add a couple nvme drives, as well as adding some SSD drives (45 drives provides STL files for caddy’s).
I contacted them with a couple questions and they got back to me the next business day, and addressed my questions. Plus, their terms of service was readable and seemed fair.
Now waiting for 2 weeks+ to get the device….plenty of time to upgrade my network to take advantage of the SFP+ 10G.
I plan on still running my old NAS server as a container/vm/app server. It has more threads and 64GB of ecc ram; plus 10Gbps rj-45
