Questions

What should be synced? What should be remote? What should be local?

In my mind the answer should be everything. But at the same time I should be more selective.

Issue

The spark for this thought was trying to get this blog post, and then the files were not on this laptop. I have about 4 different machines I use for various reasons.

Response

With the various options, I ended up installing app and install the files on this laptop. That was very quick to git pull and install hugo on nixOs.

Probably the right answer

I really should just install vs codium on a server and just have that be the central place. With a VPN and docker this would be very easy. It seems like that would be the best way to get everything I want and stop the dreaded data was not synced to the correct place.

already done stop re-inventing

I do have this in a container that should just be used as the base place. That would make since. I can sftp/ssh into the container and do my updates. I am not sure why I would not do that in this case; there is just something about having the files local and no latency. My WiFi is plenty fast, but still there is annoyances with plethora of access points around my house; I think over 100 from what the ‘rouge ap’ report gives.
